3/25-26/16 Grenada Lake MS State Championship
Grenada, Grenada, Ole Grenada! This lake is a must fish if you are a crappie fishing fan.
Our practice was BAD! I just wanted to start right off and say that. The three days before the tournament the lake was rocking and rolling and Team Roper and Grenada had a water meeting at the Fall tournament already. We were not getting ready to go out there and play on the 3 LB Crappie Playground on those days.
Dad and I used the knowledge we had of a very popular community hole on Grenada and decided to fish it due to not finding any fish during practice worthy of the Grenada title Big Fish title.
Day 1 comes as we are getting to our spot there is already locals there in the dark. We heard a couple of them talking and they said they got out there at 4:30AM. YES, 4:30AM! We were out there at 5:40AM. We fish and do okay on Day 1 with 13.97 lbs. that put us in 18th Place out of 141 teams.
DAY 2 - SLOW!!! It looked like everyones weight went up but ours. We went back to the same community hole and had to GRIND and I mean GRIND but pulled out some good fish but not like our Day 1 weight. We ended the tournament in 38th Place out of 141 teams. Not bad at all but you know we wanted to do better.
What We Used:
1) Roper Outdoors Green Chart 1/4th oz. Jig Heads
2) Lime/Chart Roper Outdoors Flutter Fingers
3) Minnows
